Axway Interchange Helps Governments Improve Services and Cut Red Tape

Logius, part of the Netherlands’ Ministry of the Interior, provides government-wide digital services and common ICT standards to simplify and speed interactions between authorities, citizens and businesses. To ensure interoperability across some 900 agencies required to exchange electronic messages, Logius needed a central compliance-testing service that would drive adoption of open standards while cutting costs and reducing administrative red tape.

Logius selected Axway Interchange as a national reference platform to automatically validate implementations against ebXML/ebMS and WUS profiles, returning compliance reports or error logs to agencies. The secure, 24x7, low‑maintenance service accelerated standards adoption and higher-frequency message exchange, reduced standards fragmentation (an estimated €500 million savings over three years), helped cut business red tape by about 25%, and minimized operating costs for the government.
