Axway Enables Automation of Bulk Payment Transfers

BNP Paribas Fortis, the banking arm of the Belgo‑Dutch Fortis group, launched a project to replace inefficient, unreliable magnetic‑tape transfers for low‑value cross‑border payments (such as pensions). With SWIFT IFT discontinued and increasing correspondent volume expected, the bank needed a scalable, secure way to eliminate tape corruption and enable near‑instant detection and resolution of file‑transfer issues.

The bank implemented SWIFTNet FileAct accessed via SWIFTAlliance Gateway and integrated Axway’s Transfer CFT/Synchrony MFT and Sentinel for monitoring and control. The solution provided secure store‑and‑forward and real‑time transfers, easy integration with existing payments applications, centralized end‑to‑end tracking and alerts, rapid deployment, and a single‑window model — delivering interoperability, fast ROI and streamlined, reliable bulk payment processing.
