AVEM, formed in 2016 from payments units of Crédit Agricole, is a specialist payments-provider serving over 500,000 retailers and managing some 440,000 terminals. Facing paper‑based workflows and integration-heavy bank onboarding that could take up to 300 days, AVEM set out to digitize customer journeys and create reusable, API-driven microservices to speed onboarding and improve merchant and bank experiences.
AVEM chose the Axway Amplify API Management Platform to publish a central API catalog and expose 80 microservices, deploying the platform two months ahead of schedule. The reusable API architecture cut onboarding time by about 90% (from ~300 days to ~30), reduced operational costs through pay-for-production pricing, and positioned AVEM to scale its payments business and support further digital transformation.
