A Axway Case Study
The Danish Defence in Copenhagen needed to comply with Danish law requiring all government communication via the secure e-Boks platform while also exchanging sensitive data with healthcare providers and other partners. Their legacy process relied on manual USB transfers and heavy postal use, creating security and efficiency challenges — they needed a way to expose and control APIs between secured networks and external services without introducing new risks.
They deployed Axway’s Amplify API Management together with Axiomatics Policy Server and Sopra Steria integration in a hardened DMZ, connecting internal systems via an ESB to enable policy-driven inspection, authorization, and automated transmission of XML/PDF messages. The solution automated workflows, sped up new services, supported ~50,000 annual transactions at full scale, cut postage costs by 96% (from 5M to 200k DKK), reduced labor, and delivered ROI in about six months.
