A Axway Case Study
The Office of the Comptroller of Maryland, which collects about $16 billion in tax revenue and pays more than 100,000 state employees each year, needed a secure, reliable way to exchange sensitive financial data with banks, universities, other agencies and citizens. Legacy FTP servers and a mainframe-dependent environment made it increasingly difficult to keep pace with stricter, fast-moving security and compliance requirements.
Working with Axway, the agency consolidated file transfers onto a highly available SecureTransport MFT gateway and began using AMPLIFY Content Services for citizen file submissions, providing a single point of control, multi-protocol support (FTPS/SFTP/HTTPS), end-to-end and at-rest encryption, and built-in reporting. The initiative cut management overhead, let the agency decommission legacy FTP servers, boosted MFT workloads by 25% with a projected 75% increase, and delivered the resiliency and auditability needed to meet evolving regulatory obligations.
