The Local Government Association (LGA), which represents some 450 local authorities in England and Wales, faced dozens of unlinked contact databases and disparate systems that made it hard to get a single view of members, manage events, publications and enquiries, and keep data up to date. The LGA tendered for an open, customisable CRM and selected a Microsoft Dynamics CRM deployment augmented with third‑party add‑ons — including Axonom’s Powertrak — to meet complex relationship and conference‑management needs.
Optevia implemented Microsoft Dynamics CRM after upgrading the LGA’s infrastructure, integrating Scribe for data consolidation and installing Axonom’s Powertrak to model complex contacts and provide a conference management module. The result was a single contact database used by 220 staff, faster sharing of customer history, improved events and publications targeting, fewer admin tasks and software licences, and a reported cost saving of £300,000 versus the competing solution; the project went live on schedule and on budget. Axonom’s Powertrak played a key role in enabling the custom functionality and relationship management the LGA required.
