How The City Of Los Angeles Enhanced Attack Surface Visibility With Axonius

The City of Los Angeles, a megacity with about 4 million residents, roughly 50,000 full‑time employees and 42 departments, struggled with limited insight into assets, many disparate department integrations, and insufficient visibility into its internal attack surface. To tackle these challenges the City evaluated solutions and selected Axonius and its Cybersecurity Asset Management platform.

Axonius delivered a single pane of glass for asset discovery and data aggregation, identifying unmanaged devices, missing EDR installations and compliance gaps, and enabling faster investigations and policy enforcement. The platform gave the City an always up‑to‑date inventory — quantifying a protection domain of about 87,000 assets connected to the network — improved situational awareness, reduced tool‑switching for analysts, and provided measurable, actionable data to support decision‑making and initiatives like Zero Trust.
