Case Study: West Midlands Police achieves faster, safer, more efficient policing with Axon

A Axon Case Study

How Axon’s ecosystem helps West Midlands Police do more with less

West Midlands Police, which serves 2.9 million people with around 7,000 officers across 348 square miles, faced pressure to make each officer as efficient as possible while improving transparency and public trust. To replace compartmentalised tools, the force evaluated and adopted Axon technology — including Axon Body 3 cameras, TASER 7/X2 devices and Axon Respond — to build a single interoperable ecosystem for capturing, transferring and reviewing evidence and soliciting public submissions.

Axon implemented a connected solution (Axon Body 3 with Signal, Axon Respond live streaming, Axon Community Request and Axon Evidence DEMS) so command staff can view live streams, reduce unnecessary travel and securely collect civilian footage. The rollout now includes 4,350 Body 3 cameras and 1,250 TASER devices; 60% of camera-wearers felt safer, 90% of live‑stream viewers would recommend Respond, community support was 92%, and WMP reports fewer complaints, faster supervision and more efficient incident resolution after adopting Axon.
