Southern Illinois Motor Xpress (SIMX), a pneumatic bulk hauler operating across the U.S. and parts of Canada with roughly 150 trucks and 300+ trailers, needed to scale its fleet and streamline operations—payroll, billing, driver settlements and utilization reporting—without adding headcount. To address these challenges they implemented Axon Software’s transportation management system to give managers real-time information and more efficient billing and operational workflows.

Axon Software delivered a comprehensive TMS that automated billing, simplified driver/operator settlements, and provided utilization and revenue reporting. As a result, SIMX grew from about 90 to 150 trucks (more than a 50% increase) without adding staff, eliminated roughly three positions through attrition, sped up invoicing and receivables, and achieved payback on the system within about two years (with ongoing rapid monthly returns). Axon Software’s tools also improved trailer/truck utilization and customer information access.
