Long Star Trucking & Field Services, based in Midland, TX, runs 60 vacuum trucks plus roustabout and flowback crews. As the company scaled they struggled with time-consuming, error-prone back-office work — invoicing, fuel tracking and reconciliation were often weeks behind, with duplicate payments and too many people required. In June 2013 they implemented Axon Real-Time Trucking Software to address these challenges.

Axon automated ticketing, fuel downloads and reconciliation, cutting bank-recon time from about a day-and-a-half to 3–4 hours, reducing invoicing staff from four people to one, and shrinking the invoicing backlog to about a day. The changes produced more accurate owner-operator statements and far fewer payment questions; Long Star has more than doubled its fleet and business since implementing Axon and avoided hiring an estimated four to five additional employees (roughly $120,000+ in annual payroll and benefits).
