Black’s Transfer Ltd., a family-run east coast trucking and logistics company founded in 1964, faced the challenge of replacing manual payroll and typewriter-based invoicing to ensure drivers were paid correctly, on time, and to maintain high retention. To modernize payroll, invoicing, payables and receivables they implemented Axon Software’s transportation management and payroll system.

Axon Software delivered an easy-to-use payroll and invoicing solution that brought payroll in-house, supported weekly pay, and simplified cross-training and backfill. The results: invoices processed jumped from about 20 to 120 per day, invoices no longer lagged 4–5 days, driver retention stayed strong (many drivers 10+ years, some nearly 30), and Black’s Transfer reports the Axon investment paid for itself within the first couple of years.
