City of Edinburgh was handling hundreds of labour‑intensive Information Requests each month across multiple departments and needed to improve accuracy, security and statutory compliance (FOI/EIR 20 working days; DPA 40 calendar days). After a tender process they selected AXLR8 and its AXLR8 FOI system to replace spreadsheet workflows and automate routine tasks.

AXLR8 implemented the FOI system through business requirements workshops and client configuration, delivering automated acknowledgements, templates, status tracking, dashboards and a public disclosure log plus reporting tools. The automation saved minutes on many tasks—often an hour or two per request—and with hundreds of requests monthly the city estimates savings equivalent to at least a couple of staff salaries per month, while improving quality, security and MIS; AXLR8 continues to support enhancements.
