XYZ Machine Tools is a major UK and European manufacturer and supplier of CNC machine tools that had run Pegasus (Senior/Opera) for 12 years but needed a single integrated system to handle stock control, costing, after‑service parts and labour (in and out of warranty), and multi‑currency transactions. After evaluating four solutions and seeing a demo at Business South West, XYZ selected axisfirst’s axis diplomat system and later added the axis vMerchant eBusiness/eCommerce module.

axisfirst implemented axis diplomat with features such as fast item retrieval by description, a Multi‑Location Stock module for tracking inventory (including stock assigned to regional field engineers), and an eBusiness link to the online parts ordering site. The solution made XYZ more efficient—allowing them to process more transactions, produce management reports they previously couldn’t, and improve stock control—and, according to the company, has been the only investment needed in their accounts department in the last four years.
