A Axis Security Case Study
Cardenas Markets, a grocery chain with dozens of locations across California, Arizona, and Nevada, needed a more secure way to provide remote access for employees, managers, suppliers, and partners. Its traditional VPN and remote management setup gave users too much network access, lacked fine-grained control, and became too risky to keep using, especially as remote work demands surged during the COVID-19 pandemic.
Axis Security provided a client-free remote access solution that let Cardenas quickly replace VPN access with secure, limited access to specific applications and servers, protected by 2-factor authentication. The rollout was completed in about two weeks, with proof of concept in less than a week, and adoption was rapid because no software installation or user training was required. Cardenas expects Axis Security to reduce VPN licenses from as many as 400 down to 10 or 20, while improving security and simplifying access for users.
