Case Study: Golf San Antonio achieves incident-free, loss-preventing tournament security with Axis Communications

Valero Texas Open uses hosted video solution to keep successful charity tournament running smoothly and without loss

Golf San Antonio (GSA), organizer of the Valero Texas Open PGA tournament, needed a non‑intrusive, temporary surveillance solution to improve crowd safety and loss prevention across tents, concessions and parking during the four‑day event. Axis Communications supplied network cameras and the AXIS Video Hosting System (AVHS) (installed and managed by Axis partner NAVCO) to address the challenge of mounting surveillance on temporary structures without running permanent cabling.

NAVCO deployed eight Axis network cameras (AXIS P1346-E, P3344-VE, Q6034-E) using PoE and streamed footage via AVHS to the Videometrixs.com cloud portal; Axis Communications’ One‑Click Camera Connection sped setup and teardown. The hosted Axis solution produced negligible losses, improved oversight of ticketing, cash handling and shuttle operations (monitoring 40+ buses), helped avoid insurance deductibles, and contributed to keeping the four‑day event running smoothly while the tournament raised more than $9M for charity.
