A Axis Communications Case Study
The University of Tulsa faced failing analog cameras and a year of unreliable IP replacements while trying to secure an urban campus, protect priceless museum artifacts, and support advanced analytics. Working with integrator JTI Security, the university selected Axis Communications solutions—deploying high-resolution Axis network cameras (including AXIS P33/P55/Q series) and Agent Vi analytics—to meet its need for superior image quality and robust analytic capabilities.
Axis Communications implemented a campus-wide, network-based system of more than 300 high-resolution fixed-dome and PTZ Axis cameras (with legacy cameras tied in via Axis encoders) integrated with Agent Vi analytics and OnSSI Ocularis VMS. The deployment delivered measurable results: forensic-quality video that helped recover a student’s stolen property in 37 minutes, analytics that spotted an erratic driver whose stroke was treated by first responders, and enhanced protection for the Gilcrease Museum and Helmerich Center through object-detection and cross-line alerts.
