The Beer Cellar, a 1,200 sq ft craft beer shop and taproom in Glen Ellyn, Illinois, needed improved video security after moving to a larger storefront with higher customer volumes and a small staff to monitor entrances, registers and the parking lot. Axis Communications’ AXIS Companion solution, specified and deployed by partner ATD, replaced the store’s older analog system to provide an easy-to-use, end-to-end video platform for safety, loss prevention and operational control.

ATD installed a suite of AXIS Companion cameras (Dome V, Eye L, Cube L and Bullet LE) to cover the bar, sales floor, back door and parking lot, and The Beer Cellar’s owner uses the AXIS Companion mobile app to view live and recorded footage remotely. Axis Communications’ system reduced staff burden and served as a deterrent, delivered clear, actionable evidence (for example, identifying a stolen piece of apparel and confirming the suspect on a later return), and enabled faster response during busy periods, improving both security and operational oversight.
