Case Study: Jackson Local Schools achieves subscription-based live streaming of sports and events with Axis Communications

A Axis Communications Case Study

Preview of the Jackson Local Schools Case Study

School live-streams sports using security cameras.

Jackson Local Schools in Massillon, OH needed a way to let families and the community remotely watch varsity sports, concerts and other events when COVID-19 capacity limits and health concerns restricted in-person attendance. They turned to Axis Communications, deploying AXIS P56 PTZ and AXIS P32 Dome cameras along with AXIS Companion software and ACAP-enabled partner apps to capture, schedule and manage live video and audio feeds.

Axis Communications’ cameras and app integrations (CamStreamer for direct streaming, plus BoxCast for subscription management and score overlays) let the district automate streams, run games with a single operator using an Xbox controller, and feed announcer audio via an Axis I/O Audio Module. The program now sells season passes (an all-sports, all-season pass is $100), expanded community access, increased athlete exposure for college recruiters, and maintains full security recording — results Jackson Local Schools attribute to Axis Communications’ platform.
