Residential gated-community deters vandalism and trespassing with Axis network cameras

Serrano El Dorado Owners’ Association, a 4,000-property gated community in El Dorado Hills, California with 21 gated entrances and 53 miles of road, needed better surveillance to support limited patrols and quickly detect vandalism, loitering and illegal visitors. The association turned to Axis Communications for a network video solution, deploying Axis network cameras to cover all entry points and improve remote monitoring.

Axis Communications’ network cameras (installed by partner Stagecoach Wireless) placed 84 units across the 21 gates with wired and wireless connectivity, PoE IR license-plate capture and remote access from security stations and desktops. The Axis system enabled faster incident response, helped identify perpetrators and supply evidence to the El Dorado Sheriff (including license-plate captures), cut vandalism, forced entries, loitering and tailgating, and extended recorded retention from about one month to up to 18 months.
