RC Willey, a home furnishings retailer managing more than $500 million in inventory to support same- or next-day delivery across the Western US, struggled to track items in transit and investigate shrink after its analog cameras reached end of life. After testing 15 vendors, RC Willey selected Axis Communications network cameras (IP cameras with Wide Dynamic Range features) to provide high-resolution, forensic-quality video for loss prevention and inventory verification.

Axis Communications’ cameras were installed by partner AlphaCorp and integrated with RC Willey’s warehouse management/point-of-sale systems and Genetec VMS, with local onsite storage for remote review. The Axis solution enabled root-cause analysis of discrepancies, tightened procedures and warehouse practices, and drove shrink down to 0.01%—a result RC Willey reports as 170% below the home furnishings industry average—saving the company millions and delivering rapid, measurable ROI.
