Pass Christian School District uses Axis network cameras to promote security and academic excellence

Pass Christian School District rebuilt much of its campus after Hurricane Katrina and wanted to proactively strengthen safety and support academic excellence. The district chose Axis Communications network cameras (deployed with Axis partner CameraWATCH Technologies) to provide state-of-the-art IP video surveillance across its new elementary and middle schools, administrative offices and daycare center.

CameraWATCH deployed roughly 150 Axis Communications network cameras (fixed dome, megapixel/HDTV and outdoor PTZ) and integrated Genetec’s Omnicast and Synergis solutions to manage video and access control. The system lets administrators track visitors, read license plates, remotely review incidents and deter misbehavior—with nearly 100 cameras covering the middle school and one elementary campus—and is already being used to identify rule-breaking students and to record exemplary classroom lessons for teacher mentoring.
