The Dallas Police Department needed a covert, fully mobile surveillance capability to gather intelligence before and during drug raids and to be managed remotely without distance limitations. The Axis solution enabled rapid, discreet deployment across hundreds of operations a year, supported major drug seizures, allowed monitoring of more than 500,000 demonstrators downtown, and even detected movement up to two miles away, with minimal ongoing cost beyond cellular air‑card fees.
