Long Beach High School deploys surveillance system in 45 days

Long Beach School District needed a fast, effective way to prevent minor scuffles from escalating at Long Beach High School with graduation less than two months away. The district turned to Axis Communications’ network video technology, deployed by partner A+ Technology Solutions, to provide IP-based surveillance across the campus and prepare for district-wide rollout before the new school year.

A+ Technology Solutions installed Axis Communications network cameras (including AXIS 216FD, 225FD, 215 PTZ and an AXIS 241Q encoder) over the district’s existing WAN in just 45 days, using PoE short runs to avoid major construction. The Axis solution gave principals live monitoring from office consoles, two-way coordination with security patrols, centralized recording and easy scalability; it helped prevent incidents, covered buildings, playing fields and parking lots, and saved the district thousands of dollars compared with an analog system.
