Case Study: Little League International World Series achieves enhanced athlete and spectator safety with Axis Communications

A Axis Communications Case Study

Preview of the Little League International World Series Case Study

Little League World Series uses Axis cameras to ensure athlete and spectator safety

Little League International World Series draws more than 300,000 visitors to a town of 6,000 each August, creating a major security and crowd‑management challenge. To bolster its security program, Little League International World Series worked with Axis Communications (via partner Lenel Systems Intl.) to deploy Axis network cameras — including thermal, PTZ and fixed‑dome models — for perimeter detection, crowd monitoring and access control verification.

Axis Communications’ cameras, installed and integrated by Lenel into an OnGuard video management and access‑control system, gave security teams remote monitoring, analytics and two‑way audio to spot suspicious items, verify badge holders, deter unauthorized dorm access and rapidly locate missing children. With more than two dozen Axis cameras in 2010, the system measurably reduced time‑to‑find missing people, improved crowd control and helped transform the South Williamsport venue into one of the safest sports sites for athletes, dignitaries and fans.
