A Axis Communications Case Study
Kwik Trip, a Midwest convenience-store chain based in La Crosse, Wisconsin, needed to protect thousands of employees and millions of customers, reduce theft and insurance claims, and tighten quality control across its bakery, dairy, commissary and distribution operations. To address these challenges it partnered with Axis Communications, deploying high‑resolution network cameras (including AXIS P3301, AXIS P1343‑E, AXIS P3343‑VE and AXIS 216FD models) alongside existing analog systems and integrated solutions from partners such as Hunter Security & Surveillance and exacqVision VMS.
Hunter Security & Surveillance implemented a hybrid strategy that augmented analog CCTV with Axis cameras in high‑risk store areas and a full IP deployment of Axis fixed and PTZ cameras at corporate facilities, managed by exacqVision. Axis Communications’ cameras provided clear forensic evidence for prosecutions, helped Kwik Trip recoup losses, reduced merchandise shrinkage, improved food‑safety and production oversight, aided police investigations, and enabled operational improvements (video retention of 30–60 days and features like license‑plate recognition during pilot tests).
