IP video security for casinos is no bluff

Players Casino, a Ventura, California card-room operator, faced theft, cheating, liability and strict regulatory surveillance requirements after relocating and initially installing an analog system. To gain higher resolution, remote management and scalable coverage, they engaged Axis Communications (through partner CCS) to transition from analog to an IP-based video surveillance solution using Axis network cameras and Axis video encoders.

CCS implemented an Axis Communications system—AXIS P3344 and P3346 fixed dome network cameras, an AXIS Q7900 encoder rack with P7224 blades to upgrade legacy cameras, and OnSSI Ocularis VMS—delivering HDTV/3MP coverage above tables and room overviews. The upgrade produced clear forensic detail of faces, cards and chips, reduced blind spots, enabled remote re-aiming and maintenance without disrupting customers, provided 24/7 recording with greater redundancy, and made regulatory compliance and incident review faster and simpler.
