Hampton Affiliates branches out operational and safety efforts at lumber mills with network video

Hampton Affiliates, one of North America’s largest forest‑products manufacturers operating nine lumber mills across the Pacific Northwest, faced the challenge of identifying safety hazards and mechanical issues across vast, remote sites with limited on‑site staff. To replace a limited analog setup, they turned to Axis Communications, standardizing on AXIS M1014 fixed cameras, AXIS P55 PTZ domes and AXIS Camera Station software for IP video monitoring.

Axis Communications deployed more than 800 network cameras across Hampton Affiliates’ facilities, streaming to AXIS Camera Station and retaining roughly seven days of footage. The solution enabled engineers to troubleshoot equipment failures daily, reduced the need for physical presence, streamlined operations so resources could be reallocated, and provided high‑quality recordings for incident review — delivering clear operational and safety improvements.
