Grant Parish Sheriff’s Office elevates to network video system to monitor its detention center

The Grant Parish Sheriff’s Office in Grant Parish, Louisiana, was dealing with failing analog cameras and low‑quality images that left incidents and contraband undetected. They engaged Axis Communications—first using AXIS M7016 video encoders and then upgrading to Axis network cameras (AXIS P3225‑LV, AXIS M3007‑PV) integrated with Milestone XProtect® Pro—to move from an unreliable analog system to a modern IP video solution.

Axis Communications installed fixed, 360° and PTZ network cameras plus a central control tower, providing HDTV 1080p views, remote mobile/desktop access and centralized monitoring of dormitories (about 50 inmates each). The new Axis system let staff identify contraband within minutes, improved playback for investigations, reduced blind spots and staff complacency, and delivered markedly clearer, more reliable video and faster response.
