Case Study: Western Precooling Systems achieves rapid deployment and over $30,000 in cost savings with Axis Communications

A Axis Communications Case Study

Preview of the Western Precooling Systems Case Study

Going the extra mile with Axis

Western Precooling Systems (WPC), a 50,000+ sq ft cooling and produce-handling facility in Oxnard, CA, faced an urgent need to upgrade from poor analog cameras to high‑resolution network cameras at entrances, docks and parking areas located about 850 feet from its central server room. To meet safety, operational and FDA-related requirements quickly, WPC engaged Axis Communications for network camera technology and improved monitoring capability.

Axis Communications, deployed via partner Photo‑Scan of Los Angeles with Paige Electric’s GameChanger Cable, installed over 100 Axis network cameras (including AXIS Q6045‑E PTZs and P1435‑LE/P3225‑LVE models) and used Axis’ Zipstream Technology to deliver long‑distance PoE video with no latency. The system was up in 10 business days—roughly five weeks faster than building an IDF—saved WPC more than $30,000 in build‑out costs, and has already enabled pallet barcode verification, dismissal of a false slip‑and‑fall claim, and significant storage savings.
