George Junior Republic embraces integrated IP security solution for at-risk youth facility

George Junior Republic, a nonprofit residential treatment facility in Grove City, PA caring for about 1,000 at‑risk youth across 50+ campus buildings, needed a flexible, reliable security solution to monitor residents—especially at night. They turned to Axis Communications for IP video technology, selecting Axis network cameras and the AXIS P8221 I/O Audio Module to leverage the campus fiber network and provide high‑quality, easy-to-manage coverage.

Axis Communications and systems integrator Accent installed 140 Axis cameras (including AXIS M3005‑V, M3006‑V, M3007‑PV and M3014 models) integrated with ultrasonic motion detectors, the AXIS P8221 module and Video Insight VMS. The motion‑triggered feeds “pop” on the command center, enabling faster, focused responses; video is retained for 30 days on two 24 TB servers, alarms are tied to a 110 dB alert, and the deployment achieved full high‑definition coverage of all residential buildings while creating a scalable platform for future integrations.
