Stratford Square Mall, a 1.3 million sq. ft. retail destination in Bloomingdale, IL that draws about 12 million visitors a year, needed to upgrade common-area and parking-lot surveillance to maintain a family-friendly environment and assist local police with investigations. The mall worked with Axis Communications (via partner Premier Technology Solutions and Milestone Systems for VMS) to deploy HDTV-quality network cameras and a networked video platform that could be easily shared with Bloomingdale PD.

Axis Communications’ solution—nearly two dozen HDTV Axis network cameras (including AXIS Q6045‑E, P3364‑V, M3014 and P5534 models) on a new fiber/PoE backbone with Milestone monitoring 24/7—delivered forensic-quality images, secure live access and archived clips for police. The result: clear close-ups (logos, tattoos, faces), license-plate reads at long range, and rapid police apprehensions of after-hours vandals, with Axis video routinely used as evidentiary support and shared with responding officers.
