Case Study: Deer Park Independent School District achieves enhanced school safety with Axis Communications

District puts Axis network cameras at the heart of its school safety plan

Deer Park Independent School District in Deer Park, Texas, sought to strengthen access control and campus safety for more than 12,300 students and nearly 1,800 staff across 14 campuses and facilities. To meet that challenge the district worked with Axis Communications (with integration by partner LenSec) to deploy Axis network cameras as the core of its surveillance and visitor-monitoring strategy.

Axis Communications supplied an array of 700 network cameras integrated with LenSec video management software to cover entrances, hallways, cafeterias, athletic fields and exterior sites. The system enabled faster investigations, live monitoring during peak periods, aided in identifying and charging vandals, and demonstrated the ability to track a suspect in under a minute during active-shooter drills—delivering measurable improvements in deterrence, response and incident resolution.
