Cruise control: protecting an auto dealership operation with Axis

Rydell Automotive Group in Grand Forks, North Dakota, faced a failing, non‑scalable surveillance system that frequently dropped offline and offered little customization. To regain control, Rydell worked with Axis Communications to deploy an IP video solution of Axis network cameras integrated with the Aimetis Symphony VMS (specified by High Point Networks), leveraging ONVIF interoperability to fit the dealership’s staffed IT and development teams.

Axis Communications’ solution put more than 230 cameras in place — including 5‑megapixel AXIS P3367‑V and AXIS M3007‑V models, panoramic and WDR domes — streaming to Aimetis Symphony with mobile access and analytics like license‑plate recognition. The deployment gave Rydell clear, zoomable evidence to stop fraud and customer disputes (for example proving a customer removed golf clubs onsite and refuting damage claims such as alleged wiper damage), improved service‑drive safety, and delivered measurable operational savings and better customer service.
