Clay Platte Family Medicine Clinic upgrades to a flexible and secure IP-based access control system

Clay Platte Family Medicine Clinic, a busy primary-care facility in Kansas City serving 250–450 patients daily with more than 100 staff, needed to replace its manual lock-and-key system to better protect patients, records, medicines and medical equipment while supporting future growth. Axis Communications’ IP-based access control solution—using AXIS A1001 Network Door Controllers and AXIS Entry Manager software (installed via partner Wachter, Inc.)—was chosen to provide a scalable, networked alternative.

Axis Communications’ AXIS A1001 controllers and AXIS Entry Manager were implemented to give administrators drag-and-drop scheduling, group and clearance management, remote temporary access and simplified installation with color-coded wiring and Power-over-Ethernet, reducing cabling costs. The Axis solution delivered full control over who can access the facility and when, ensured doors are locked at night, cut installation complexity and costs, and produced savings that allowed Clay Platte Family Medicine Clinic to begin integrating IP video surveillance and plan expansion to new locations.
