City of Naperville, IL selects Axis network cameras to protect electric and water infrastructure

The City of Naperville, IL, manages electrical and water utility stations spread across about 40 square miles and needed a cost‑effective way to protect perimeters and monitor infrastructure. To address this, the City worked with Axis Communications, deploying Axis network cameras — including AXIS P3364‑LVE fixed domes and an AXIS Q6044‑E PTZ — as part of its IP‑based surveillance network (integrated with Milestone XProtect and installed with partner WOWaccess).

Axis Communications’ solution centralized video feeds at the city’s 9‑1‑1 dispatch center, enabling remote monitoring, bandwidth tuning and centralized maintenance. The pilot deployments led to a citywide roll‑out that increased situational awareness and infrastructure protection without adding staff, allowed technicians to diagnose outages by zooming into equipment before dispatch, provided immediate IT alerts to preserve footage, and reduced overall operating costs for the City of Naperville.
