A Axis Communications Case Study
Choctaw Nation of Oklahoma, which operates multiple gaming properties across southeastern Oklahoma, faced failing analog surveillance that produced low-resolution, worn VCR recordings unacceptable for investigations and court evidence. Seeking an open, IP-based system that could record at 30 fps, scale easily and avoid disruptive rewiring, the tribe selected Axis Communications network cameras (including AXIS 216FD, AXIS P3301, AXIS 231D+/233D and AXIS P3343 models) to modernize floor, back-of-house and exterior surveillance.
Axis Communications’ cameras were deployed on the casinos’ fiber backbone, managed via integrated VMS solutions, and powered by PoE to reduce installation costs. The system enabled 24/7 monitoring, remote configuration, high-quality evidentiary video and affordable 14-day archives (H.264/MJPEG), leading to a measurable reduction in fraudulent slip-and-fall claims and shortages at tables and tills; Choctaw has already replaced analog cameras across multiple sites and plans to deploy more than 3,000 Axis network cameras as it expands.
