A Axis Communications Case Study
Bonneville Joint School District No. 93 in Idaho Falls faced poor image quality, aging DVRs and limited central access across 21 schools serving nearly 12,000 students, and sought a reliable IP-based surveillance upgrade. Working with integrator AlphaCorp, the district selected Axis Communications HDTV and megapixel network cameras and AXIS M7016 video encoders (managed via ExacqVision VMS) to replace or network-enable legacy analog systems and provide easier central and mobile access.
Axis Communications’ cameras and encoders were deployed throughout the district—typical counts of ~30 cameras for elementary, ~60 for middle and 80+ for high schools—using H.264 compression, programmable guard tours and motion masking to optimize coverage and bandwidth. The solution delivered far superior image clarity and forensic value (including license-plate capture and resolving a missing delivery), enabled centralized live and archived review, and reduced storage and network demands, giving Bonneville better incident investigation and deterrence while saving on storage and bandwidth.
