A Axis Communications Case Study
CBS47 in Fresno, California, needed a cost-effective way to expand live local news and weather coverage across the 150-mile San Joaquin Valley without sending crews everywhere. To meet that challenge the station turned to Axis Communications network cameras (deployed by Axis partner Valley Ag Software) to provide remote, broadcast-quality video and PTZ control for live reporting.
Valley Ag Software installed Axis Communications high-resolution cameras (AXIS Q6032-E and AXIS Q1755) on radio towers and streamed H.264 video over the ISP backbone, enabling 24/7 unmanned live feeds, viewer-controlled PTZ on the CBS47 website, and HD-ready 1080i imaging. The Axis Communications solution let CBS47 begin live broadcasting in under 48 hours, broaden valley-wide coverage (often becoming the first “eyes” on the scene), increase web engagement, and produce continuous live and time-lapse weather sequences without dispatching crews.
