Benedictine University earns state-wide recognition for excellence in campus security with Axis network cameras and video encoders

Benedictine University in Lisle, Illinois faced escalating expectations for campus safety as it serves over 10,000 students and hosts large events. To maintain its high safety standards and speed incident response, the university partnered with Axis Communications (working with integrator Convergint Technologies and OnSSI) to deploy Axis network cameras and video encoders campus-wide.

Axis Communications’ cameras and encoders, managed by an OnSSI VMS and integrated with card access, emergency notification and PA systems, provided HDTV, low-light color, WDR, 360° coverage and PTZ capability (including AXIS Q6035-E, AXIS M3007-PV and AXIS Q7406 encoders). The solution enabled 24/7 remote monitoring, 30–45 day video archiving on Dell servers, motion-triggered high-resolution recording, and improved evacuation coordination — helping multiply the police force’s reach and contributing to Benedictine’s statewide recognition as the safest four-year private institution in Illinois.
