Case Study: Waterfront Partnership of Baltimore achieves increased public engagement and accelerated harbor cleanup with Axis Communications' rugged live-streaming cameras

A Axis Communications Case Study

Preview of the Waterfront Partnership of Baltimore Case Study

Axis promotes green efforts on the harbor

The Waterfront Partnership of Baltimore needed a way to show Mr. Trash Wheel in action—especially during heavy storms when the river flow is strongest—to engage the public and supporters of the Healthy Harbor Initiative. Axis Communications, via partner Skyline Technology Solutions, provided an outdoor-ready AXIS P3384-VE network camera to deliver high-definition, vandal-resistant live streaming of the device.

Axis Communications’ AXIS P3384-VE was installed aboard the Water Wheel and the feed is routed through Skyline’s data center for 24/7 distribution on the Wheel’s website. The camera has withstood extreme weather and even temporary submersion without losing power or connection, driving fundraising interest, expanding social-media engagement, and helping fund construction of a second Wheel—measurable outcomes credited with accelerating broader sales for the Water Wheel solution.
