Lauderdale County School District in Meridian, Mississippi needed a way to ensure students serving in-school suspension received the same instruction as peers while being physically separated. Working with partner CameraWATCH, Axis Communications deployed a network video solution using Axis network cameras and conference microphones to stream live classroom lessons to isolated alternative classrooms.

Axis Communications installed 75 Axis network cameras with microphones in core classrooms across six middle and high schools, leveraging the district’s existing IP network to reduce installation time and cost. Students in suspension watch and listen via individual learning stations (one monitor or facilitator supervises the room), allowing them to keep pace with lessons, complete assignments and tests on schedule, and simplifying staffing needs — outcomes achieved directly through the Axis Communications solution.
