Case Study: Orlando-Sanford International Airport achieves enhanced TSA compliance and expanded surveillance with Axis Communications

A Axis Communications Case Study

Preview of the Orlando Sanford International Airport Case Study

Axis network cameras give Orlando-Sanford International Airport a flexible security tool to keep travelers safe

Orlando Sanford International Airport faced strict TSA camera mandates and a growing security burden that outpaced its legacy analog system. Working with integrator SiteSecure, the airport moved to Axis Communications network cameras — including high‑definition fixed dome and PTZ models — managed through Genetec’s Security Center, to meet regulatory requirements and modernize surveillance across the campus.

Axis Communications’ IP camera deployment replaced analog units with a standardized set of Axis models and integrated video with access control, giving dispatchers hi‑def live and archived footage across a roughly 580‑camera system (about 200 of which cover TSA‑mandated locations). The upgrade delivered measurable ROI through reduced maintenance and longer camera life, enabled facial and license‑plate identification used in real investigations, expanded coverage beyond fence lines to bridges, terminals, tarmacs and parking, and improved operational response and forensic capabilities.
