Swiss Re Simplifies User Permission Management with Dynamic Authorization

Swiss Re, the second largest reinsurance company in the world, needed a better way to manage user permissions across its joiner/mover/leaver process while meeting strict compliance and audit requirements. Manual approval and provisioning steps were slowing access for new employees and creating risk when access was not removed quickly enough for employees who changed roles or left. Swiss Re chose Axiomatics and the Axiomatics Policy Server to address the problem.

With Axiomatics Policy Server, Swiss Re automated most of the manual permission steps by using auditable rules based on employee attributes and access policy checks. The result was smoother and faster onboarding, reduced security risk from lingering access, and clearer audit visibility into who has access to what and why. Swiss Re’s head of IT security summed up the outcome by saying, “It’s simple, there are no more audit findings.”
