Case Study: New Norcia enhances its River Walk with interpretive signage by Axiom

A Axiom Case Study

Preview of the New Norcia Case Study

New Norcia’s River Walk signage becomes a lasting landmark with Axiom after replacing 1980s trail signs

The vendor Axiom was engaged by New Norcia, Australia's only monastic town, to address the challenge of its deteriorating River Walk Interpretive Trail. The original trail signage, created in the 1980s, had fallen into disrepair and needed replacement to continue serving visitors.

Axiom's solution involved designing and implementing new interpretive and wayfinding signage using corten steel, a material that harmonizes with the landscape. As the steel rusted, it naturally blended with the environment. The result is signage that is consistently commended by visitors and has aged gracefully, becoming an integral part of the location it helps to interpret.
