Grocery Outlet faced the challenge of unplanned refrigeration outages, a common and costly issue primarily caused by refrigerant leaks. Their existing PPM sensors were insufficient, as they could not detect a slow leak that was developing. Axiom Cloud was engaged to address this vulnerability with its Virtual Technician app.

Axiom Cloud's solution used algorithms to continuously estimate refrigerant charge by analyzing data from existing sensors, weather, and system status, identifying a leak that the physical sensors missed. This early detection allowed a technician to repair the leak before it caused an outage. The result was an estimated savings of $4,790 from an avoided rack outage, preventing downtime, a large emergency maintenance bill, and a significant reduction in Scope 1 emissions.
