Grocery Outlet, a grocery store in Northern California, faced the challenge of unplanned refrigeration outages, commonly caused by refrigerant leaks that were undetectable by its existing PPM sensors. To address this, the store partnered with Axiom Cloud and implemented its Virtual Technician app for refrigerant leak detection.

Axiom Cloud's solution used algorithms to continuously estimate refrigerant charge by analyzing existing receiver level sensors and other data, identifying a slow leak that the PPM sensors missed. This early detection allowed a technician to repair the leak before any outage occurred. The result was an estimated financial benefit of $4,790 from an avoided rack outage, preventing unplanned downtime and a large emergency maintenance bill.
