A Axiell Case Study
The Royal Ballet School, custodian of a significant historical ballet collection, faced the challenge of making its archives publicly accessible after the closure of its physical museum due to funding cuts and changing legislation. To overcome this, they partnered with vendor Axiell and utilized the Axiell Adlib collections database to digitize their materials.
The solution was the creation of an interactive online timeline built using their digitized collection in Axiell Adlib. This greatly broadened their reach, resulting in approximately 3,500 online visitors in its first seven months, which was more than double the attendance of the previous physical museum over a similar period. The timeline has become an invaluable educational resource for students and has successfully engaged a new global online audience for the school and for ballet heritage.
