Swiss Textile Collection Brings Textile History to Life, One Item at a Time

Swiss Textile, an association preserving Swiss textile history with about 2,500 items (including a cornerstone estate of roughly 1,800 couture pieces), needed a way to manage highly detailed, item-level information such as manufacturer, style, fabric and season. After outgrowing a free tool, the customer chose Axiell’s Adlib Collections Management System to capture and organize the specific records their collection requires.

Axiell implemented Adlib with customizable fields and the ability to create separate, categorized records and attach images, enabling searches by term, time period or source. The solution has improved cataloguing and discoverability, sped up responses for museum loans and research (including film and television costume queries), and supports the ongoing digitisation of the Swiss Textile collection.
