The Dutch Ministry of Health, Welfare & Sport faced slow, outdated library IT that hampered its special library team’s ability to deliver timely research and briefings across more than 400 subscribed subject areas to civil servants, the state secretary and the minister. To modernize access to reports, papers and statistics and shorten lead-times, the Ministry engaged Axiell and adopted the Adlib digital special library solution.
Axiell implemented Adlib, linking catalogue entries to user profiles and enabling daily updates and subject-specific portals; the system was operational in two months and, despite customizations, “paid off” within a year. The Axiell solution delivered a dramatic increase in efficiency, considerably shorter lead-times, improved overview and accessibility for staff and decision-makers, and faster responses to queries across the Ministry’s 400+ subject subscriptions.
