Realtor.com, the trusted real estate marketplace operated by Move, Inc., needed to scale beyond the limits of its on-premises data center as traffic and feature complexity grew. The company also wanted to move from batch processing to real-time processing so customers could change ad campaigns instantly and the business could better handle highly variable traffic patterns.

Using AWS Lambda alongside Amazon Kinesis, Amazon Firehose, Amazon Redshift, and Amazon EC2, Realtor.com built Turbo Listings to process ad impressions in real time and support automated campaign management. The result was a highly scalable, elastic system processing tens of millions of ad impressions per day, faster feature development, lower infrastructure costs, and a clearer path to migrating its entire website to the AWS Cloud.
